FNY Meeting
6:00 pm at the Municipal Art Society at 457 Madison Avenue (at 51st) on the second floor

Spaced Out: Finding Work Space in a Tight New York Market

As neighborhoods gentrify and manufacturing spaces get more expensive or convert to residential lofts, it's getting harder and harder for smaller manufacturers/designers to find affordable geographically-desirable space. In conjunction with the Municipal Art Society's report, "Making it in New York: The Manufacturing Land Use and Zoning Initiative," Furniture New York presents a panel discussion on finding work space and on alternative options. Hear ideas about how you can find the space you need, or bring your experiences to share with us.

Panelists:
Frank Sanchis, Municipal Art Society
David Sweeny, Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center
Dawn Ladd, Aurora Lampworks (Organizer of a cooperative workshop space)
Natalie Hurwitz, Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty Corp.
